Burning Man Bike Rules Every Burner Should Know
Bikes are the primary mode of transportation at Burning Man, but there are important rules that riders must follow to keep the event safe for everyone.
One of the most important requirements is lighting at night. Burning Man becomes extremely dark after sunset, and unlit bikes are difficult to see. Riders must decorate their bikes with bright lights, LEDs, or glow accessories to stay visible.
Another rule is to ride responsibly. While e-bikes can travel quickly, riders should maintain safe speeds and remain aware of pedestrians and art installations throughout Black Rock City.
Bike parking etiquette is also important. Riders should avoid blocking pathways or camp entrances and always secure their bikes with locks to prevent theft.
Finally, burners should remember the principle of Leave No Trace, which means avoiding litter and taking care not to damage the playa surface.
By following these simple rules, riders help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone attending Burning Man.
